Abstract: TEC outlines the reasons for having a Security Vulnerability
Assessment done, how a security vulnerability
assessment is performed, what can be gained by enlisting the Security Vulnerability
Assessment process, and what you should expect to see in a Security Vulnerability
Assessment report. After all, the most important reason for having a Security Vulnerability
Assessment performed is to enable corrective action. How can you know what to secure if you don't know what is insecure?

Abstract: A security vulnerability assessment service is a risk management process. Interliant's security vulnerability assessment service enables its clients to understand what risks their online transaction systems and network infrastructure face. Relevant Technologies has taken an in-depth look at Interliant's security vulnerability assessment service to find out what their tactical strategy is in helping organizations minimize risk, how this strategy evolved, and what IT decision makers can expect to gain from using their services.
Abstract: The MMOG was a self-assessment process developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) to provide consistent methodology for evaluating supplier performance, identifying weaknesses, and focusing improvement efforts. The Global MMOG/LE incorporates the Odette Logistics Evaluation (OLE), developed by AIAG’s European counterpart, to provide a single global standard for self-assessment. The MMOG is a proven tool for supplier development and provides a recognized industry standard for suppliers who have been asked by customers to complete a self-assessment. Although it was developed by the automotive industry, QAD believes it can be a helpful benchmark tool for customers across many verticals.
Abstract: Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Enterprise asset management (EAM) system. Computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) system. Integrated workplace management system (IWMS). Each type of facility management solution offers different functionalities and features, and one may be better than another for your company’s needs. Learn more about the differences and how an integrated solution is a “must have.”
Abstract: To maximize the return on investment of a customer relationship management system, a new CRM best practices model should be used. A point-based system, self-assessment model that emphasizes senior management leadership and the need to create a culture consistent with CRM can lead to a deployment strategy that is correlated with success. An interactive version of this assessment is included with this article.
Abstract: In an effort to assist corporations in preventing security related losses, Ernst & Young announced that it is spinning off a new online security venture. The new venture's lead product line is their Security Vulnerability Assessment service.
Abstract: There are many ways to safeguard wireless local area networks (WLANs), but which measures should you deploy, and how can you tell whether your network is sufficiently hardened against 802.11 and 802.1X attacks? Download this white paper to learn about a process for business risk analysis, vulnerability identification, and threat remediation—and find out how to conduct your own WLAN vulnerability assessment.
Abstract: Software implementation can be complex. Even when it seems all your business processes and systems are “go” after the implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, there might still be room for improvement. Find out how a post-implementation system assessment of technical and functional systems can improve data capture accuracy, increase user buy-in, and boost your return on investment (ROI).
Abstract: Over the past few years, vulnerabilities have exploded across all types of platforms—leaving IT security and operations teams scratching their heads. Today, many companies use the scan-and-patch method for managing vulnerabilities—a reactive security process that should be avoided. By combining assessment and remediation, companies create a vulnerability management program that can rapidly respond to emerging threats.
Abstract: Vulnerability assessment (VA) has become one of the hottest fields within computer security. VA tools are designed to detect and report on security holes within software applications, allowing organizations to take corrective action—before devastating attacks occur. Indeed, due to reduction in hacker “time to exploit,” along with intense regulatory pressures, the need for reliable VA has never been greater.
Abstract: When Newport Corporation needed an integrated business system, it enlisted CSCG to help evaluate existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. CSCG leveraged innovative software assessment tools to help make a selection decision at a savings of $50,000 in project costs, mitigating risk by delivering key reporting capabilities based on impartial data. This case study shows how it was done.
Abstract: This paper presents the arguments in favour of adopting a risk assessment strategy, and ways in which it can benefit your project as well as your business as a whole.
Abstract: The core components of a retail information system are inventory management, inventory optimization, revenue management, sales management, and reports and inquiries. Non-core components can include financial, supply chain management, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and warehouse management systems.
Abstract: Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems are software systems that cover the range of interaction a company has with its current, or potential customers. Its functionality can include marketing automation, sales force automation, help desk, customer service and support, partner management, contract management and creation, project and team management, Internet sales, e-mail response management, analytics, and important technical criteria.
Abstract: Effective IP management requires proper allocation of address space for adequate address capacity as needed, as well as accurate configuration of DHCP and DNS servers. Along with flawless configuration and management of each of these foundational elements of Internet protocol (IP) address management, address managers must also integrate these management functions into the broader IT network management environment.
Abstract: The importance of resource selection is undervalued in the software industry. But in fact, the resource selection process is directly related to software development mission success. The in-house interview process typically fails to achieve comprehensive in-depth skills assessment, and is not cost-effective. However, you can improve matters by integrating external technical skills assessment expertise into the hiring process.
Abstract: Since our research-driven beginnings, Johnson & Johnson Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) has continually improved the new product development (NPD) process. Detailed process mapping has revealed three tiers of business metrics, starting with drivers and moving up through execution metrics to business performance metrics. When driver metrics improves, so does business performance. Six Sigma tools helps identify specific metrics at all tiers and the causality linkages among them. Each NPD process step at ASP results in a deliverable, and each deliverable relates to a trade-off triangle (cost-time-resources) and, ultimately, to investment dollars. To track performance, ASP calculates how actual NPD decisions and what-if scenarios affect deliverables, alter investment triangles, and thereby influence business results. ASP uses similar process and tools, including the investment triangles and Six Sigma QFD, to make idea management decisions. The IDweb real-time software environment enables both the NPD and idea management processes at ASP. By deploying the strategic planning, idea management, portfolio and pipeline management, process management, and resource management modules of IDweb, ASP has increased throughput by 20 percent and reduced cycle time by 40 percent.
Abstract: Effective resource management not only impacts profitability, it generates loyalty that translates to competitive advantages in recruiting and retaining the best people. System inefficiencies, however, often make it difficult for businesses to find time to improve their resource management processes or upgrade their systems. Find out how these five steps can help your business in its resource management planning efforts.
Abstract: The 2006 PMI Research Conference was an excellent venue for gauging the direction in which project management research is heading. The presentations of the areas of portfolio management and program management confirm the rising demand for project portfolio management solutions.
